Building a email list is something that nearly every marketer aims to do as time goes on. Possibly this is because they have learned about the importance of having their own list, or simply because they see and read almost every other marketer speak about it and believe that they too need to do it. Not the way that it should be, sad to say that is the way with most things when it comes to marketing online. Nonetheless, in today's article I am going to answer the question of whether you really should spend some time out in building an email list or can you be successful without it?
Is building an email list compulsory?
Building a email list is important and should be one of your top priorities, that is if you actually plan on staying in the Internet and multi level marketing industry on a long term basis. You can make money without a list, however it will not be much and it will be short term income. This money will primarily comprise of one off commission payments via people who maybe buy a product you are promoting through one of your reviews. On a long term basis though, building an email list needs to be one of the top things on your to do list.
There are lots of top marketers out there who have been building a email list for a long period and because of this, they have very big numbers of people subscribed to their emails and newsletters. I am talking about 5000, 10,000 and more. The truth is though it isn't really the number of people you have in your list, but yet the quality of the relationship that you have with them. I would rather have a list of 2000 people which have a strong connection with me and know, like as well as trust me in lieu of a list of 4000 where only a hundred or so have a connection with me.
This means that when it comes to creating an email list, you do not need 5000 or 10000 people. You shouldn't even be focusing on the number simply because that isn't what's important. It's the relationship that you develop and shield that is important. You can even have a list of say 500-1000 people and still get some pretty good results if you have been treating them the right way and you would know if you was simply because they would know, like and trust you. They would open your emails as well as click on your links. Your open rates and CTR rates would be very high.
And so building an email list is very important and should be something that you are always trying to work on no matter what business you are in or what niche you are in. I am sure you have come across the saying 'the money is in the list' right? That may be true to an extent, but the bucks are in the relationship that you have with the list. I have stated the word relationship many times on this page so you should realise the value of it. It is not exactly an easy task that can be done overnight, but once you start building an email list and constructing a relationship with that list, that's when things will begin to change.
